Software DJ Program

We’ve decided to put a computer in our Youth Club (JH Barcode) to make our life easier. First of all, I’m looking for a good program to manage the music. We need a program that is easy to use, can do a lot of playing automatically but can be used to do some good mixing too.
So far, I found PCDJ, VirtualDJ, Traktor and BPM Studio 4 Pro. I am going to try all of them, tips are welcome :)

Traktor is volgens mij een zeer gebruiksvriendelijk programma… veel mogelijkheden.

    Grtz,

Evolution is the word. I bet 50 years ago some dude said something like

“Oh my god, you’re not going to use electricity in a youthclub, are you?”.

And is the person saying “oh no, not a PC” not the same person that bought a(nother) 1.000 euro music installation, although there WAS a perfect working one present? But that’s a whole different story, or isn’t it?

    ;)

jesus, u do know that the one u are using now ain’t the jh property? since kwamma had enough money to buy, and was spending alot of money to rent stuff, we decided to buy..
    case pretty closed

Since it’s not our property, it’s not our problem when it’s broke, it just gets replaced. And money is not the object, Barcode has plenty of that too.

And case closed? When did I open it?

Well, if u wanna try out a mixing program (no matter what BarCode earns/has in cash ;)) , give AtomixMP3 2.3 a try

Atomix MP3 is the ancestor of Virtual DJ. Due to the high machine requirements of Virtual DJ, Atomix MP3 is still supported and available for those who have a lighter PC configuration.

    I have VirtualDJ :)
It’s very advanced, but I think it’s major overkill for a youthclub so I’m thinking of using traktor. Still testing though, I just love VirtualDJ with all it’s skins and effects (and jingles/samples!).

I used MixMeister at a couple of private parties. I’m definitely not a DJ, but with a couple of hours of training at home I got this baby up and running like a pro.

    http://www.mixmeister.com/download.html

There are basically two modes: one where you control everything, and another where you just drop a bunch of MP3s in a playlist and let the machine sort the fading and bpm overlay out for you while you get on with the party.

    Enjoy,

    Jolicoeur

You know it’s going to be a bad day when you want to put on the clothes
you wore home from the party and there aren’t any.

Thank you very much for your contribution, I’ll certainly take a look at it, because that sounds pretty much like what I’m looking for :o
