I used MixMeister at a couple of private parties. I’m definitely not a DJ, but with a couple of hours of training at home I got this baby up and running like a pro.

There are basically two modes: one where you control everything, and another where you just drop a bunch of MP3s in a playlist and let the machine sort the fading and bpm overlay out for you while you get on with the party.

Atomix MP3 is the ancestor of Virtual DJ. Due to the high machine requirements of Virtual DJ, Atomix MP3 is still supported and available for those who have a lighter PC configuration.

I have VirtualDJ
It’s very advanced, but I think it’s major overkill for a youthclub so I’m thinking of using traktor. Still testing though, I just love VirtualDJ with all it’s skins and effects (and jingles/samples!).

Since it’s not our property, it’s not our problem when it’s broke, it just gets replaced. And money is not the object, Barcode has plenty of that too.

Evolution is the word. I bet 50 years ago some dude said something like

“Oh my god, you’re not going to use electricity in a youthclub, are you?”.

And is the person saying “oh no, not a PC” not the same person that bought a(nother) 1.000 euro music installation, although there WAS a perfect working one present? But that’s a whole different story, or isn’t it?
