Milow @ Ancien Belgique

Milow

I went to Brussels today (capital city of Belgium for the ignorant) because Milow was playing live at the Ancien Belgique for Humo’s Rock Rally. I didn’t know any of the bands that were coming exept for Milow (the others were Barbie Bangkok, Madensuyu, Absynthe Minded and The Van Jets). I heard “of” the other bands, but I was there to hear Milow, and so I left after 30 minutes (I had a lot of other stuff to do).

The concert started at about 5.10pm which is quite early, and Milow told the audience that he and the other bands that had to play early were affraid not too many people would show up, but he was happily surprised to see that many faces (I don’t know how many we were). The place wasn’t too crowded, but that didn’t stop him from playing his ass off, it was G R E A T. All you could here was Milow and his strings. He played a song or 6 and got a long applause. I think the audience was astonished, I know I was, to me he compares to Sarah Bettens (and her brother ofcourse), one of the few bands (as K’s Choice aka The Choice) to have written songs that move me emotionally.

Before he played the last song he said something like “The bands playing after me DO rock”, I didn’t hear him say “unlike me”, but I suspect he was thinking it. I think he rocked, and I only heard positive reactions in the audience close to me.

Visit his site, download his songs, download the videoclip, buy his singles/albums (to come?) and go see him live.

PS: I heard about Milow thrue Pietel’s website only a few weeks ago. I’m a fan!

Nice to hear that you enjoyed it. I didn’t make it there unfortunately. But I knew MilOW was going to do greath. He does rock, in his unique way.

Jups, he entered the stage, looking a bit nervous. With a fragile voice, he gave a few words of introduction. He looked at his guitar, while adjusting some strings. While the light bundled above him he closed his eyes, and opened his mouth. A pure sound filled the hall, more like heavenly to me. It actually touched me. Thx Milow, great evening!

DAMN YOU WOMAN, you’ve ignored the Van Jets and Absynthe Minded (whatever the spelling is, I dunno). You should’ve stayed a bit since at least one of those is able to surprise you.
